Eligibility

• Who is eligible?
  Members of the AHKLC: This includes full-time academic/teaching staff of member centres the AHKLC and individual associate members.
• What publications are eligible?
  There are two award categories:
  • AHKLC Best Journal Article 2026: A scholarly SCOPUS-indexed journal article focused on language education.
  • AHKLC Best Book Chapter 2026: A chapter in an edited volume focused on language education.

Award Details

Each award category (Best Journal Article & Best Book Chapter) will receive:

• A cash prize of HKD 2,500
• A certificate of recognition. The awards will be presented during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the AHKLC Annual Symposium.
• The winners and shortlisted authors will be invited to share their work at the AHKLC Annual Symposium.

Submission Guidelines

Participants are requested to submit their entries by filling out the designated Google Form: AHKLC Best Publication Award 2026 .

Selection Process

The selection of the winning publications will be based on a rigorous evaluation by the judging panel, considering the following criteria:

• Innovation and Impact: Does the work provide new knowledge, insights, and/or understanding of language education? Does it hold potential for considerable impact in the language education community?
• Scholarship of Teaching and Learning: Does the work relate directly to teaching and learning? Is the work embedded and/or clearly compatible with language education research and/or theory?

• Submission Deadline: 31 March 2026
• Announcement of Winners: Winners will be informed in due course and awarded at the AGM of AHKLC in June 2026.
